"Naruko-nee-san!!!" I turned to see Kakashi, age five, crying and running up to me. I kneeled down to his size.
"What's wrong, Kakashi-kun?" I asked and he had a hand rubbing his eye.
"Yama-baka is being mean!" He stated and I sighed before grabbing his face into a cradling position. I used my thumb to wipe his tears away.
"Then help me with supper." I told him and smiled. He sniffled and nodded with a hiccup. I got up and began pulling out meat from the freezer. "Get me a frying pan." I told him and he was right to work. As we started working on supper I sensed a presence by the door frame. I knew who it was and wiped my hands on my apron. "I'll be back, I need to go grab something." I told Kakashi and patted his head.
"Mh!" He nodded and was mixing a bowls of mashed potatoes, not cooked yet.
"No eating it that way!" I told him and he pouted as he withdrew his finger. I "left" and noticed Yamato, age six, morph into the room.
"Ne, Kakashi?" I peeked around the corner to watch, holding my pigtails so I wasn't noticeable.
"What do you want, Yama-baka?!" Kakashi asked as he faced away again after seeing who entered the room.
I saw the frustration flash on Yamato's face, but he then calmed. "I wanted t-to apologize. I shut have took your toy. Naruko-nee-san did buy it for you." He stated and bit his lip in nervousness. Kakashi stopped all movements and soon put the bowl on the ground, since the counter was too high.
"I guess I can forgive you, Yamato." He stated with a grin and then walked up to him. His hand was set out. "Still friends?" He asked and Yamato grinned.
He grabbed the hand and said, "Friends!" They shook before hugging. I decided to make myself known and came back in with a sigh.
"I couldn't find it!" I stated and saw as they split apart immediately, not wanting me to see they made up with a hug. "Oh? You joining us, Yamato-chan?" I asked and patted his head. He whined out and pouted.
"I am not a girl!!! It's Yamato-kun~!" He whined and I giggled.
"Oh! But -chan fits you better!" Kakashi snickered and I took the bowl as they began arguing over their names. I sighed and smiled as I continued supper. Kids were amusing to watch, one day I will have my own; whether Sasuke-teme likes it or not!
I grinned at the thought and glanced at their bickering. Kids are great.
