God, Mina couldn't believe she was going to join her cousins at Cross Academy. She had been waiting for this day ever since they had gone away. Even though they weren't Japanese, but Americans, they were requested for at the academy by the headmaster himself!
The reason was, Mina and her cousins, John, Wesley, and her cousin-in law Cindy, were a very reputable band called "Death's Message". Needless to say they were a hard rock/metal group. But it wasn't just their reputation that got them to the school, but the fact that Cross Academy needed them for a special reason.
All the band members knew the secret of the Night Class, that they were vampires, so Headmaster Cross decided they should come to the school to become Guardians or Prefects as their cover was.
The reason Cross took an interest in them was because they all had a special gift: The band could subdue anyone who listened to them. Death's Message agreed to play on the weekends for the Night Class so that even if someone was bleeding profusely, they wouldn't notice. Also it would give the other Guardians a rest and a couple good night's sleep.
The rest of the band had gone over to Japan a couple days prior to set up the paperwork there while Mina stayed in Chicago to close their previous deals in America. She was already on the plane that was pulling into the Tokyo airport.
Mina didn't speak a lot of Japanese but she was getting the hang of it. She was so excited which was unusual for her, because she was the one who was always gloom and doom, more so than any of her cousins. Mina gave the band their image, even her cousins said so, but she was always far too modest. Mina handled all their bills and paychecks and was always fair.
As far as she was concerned she was a talented singer who had a mind for finances, nothing more. Not beautiful or attractive in the least. She got off the plane and went to baggage claim to get her suitcases then went to find her escorts, which she had been told would be there when she arrived.
She looked over dozens of heads to see a brown-haired girl waving a sign that read "Mina MacChloe!" with a sweet smile on her face. But what really got Mina's attention was the guy she was standing next to.
He was tall with silver hair and enchanting lavender eyes. He was wearing something similar to what the girl was wearing: a midnight purple suit with white pinstripes. She walked closer in her normal silent way and the girl noticed Mina somehow. She ran over, lugging the stunning man with her.
"Konnichiwa, Mina-chan! I'm Yuki Cross the Headmaster's adopted daughter, and this big lug is Zero Kiryuu." Mina bowed to each one of them in respect, a blank look on her face. Yuki smiled and said, "Well the headmaster is waiting for you outside by the car. Come on Mina-chan, let us take your bags." When Yuki made a move for the bags, Mina interjected, "No, that's fine. I'm a strong girl. I can handle it." Mina grabbed both suitcases and slung her black over the shoulder backpack on her right shoulder and they made for the car.
The man named Zero kept glancing at her and she couldn't help but stare at him as well out of the corner of her eye.
He had a lean yet muscular physique with long legs and long, strong arms with his hands in his coat pockets. She could tell they were big with long, slim fingers.
She could already tell this was going to be a long day.
