A little drabble for a friend who listened to me yesterday when I was sad and mad at someone who hadn't really done anything terrible to me, and while talking to her I understood I was about to throw away a friendship that is worth it. As worth is as our own friendship is. This is not much, but it's my way of saying 'thank you'.

The meaning of those words was so deep she could almost feel it physically when she thought them. It was deep beyond any expression she could have used to explain just how much she loved the sound of her name and his last name together. It was so deep the beat of her heart fastened every time she heard them, every time she said them aloud.

She loved whispering those words aloud, whispering them to herself, over and over again.

Those deep, beautiful words meant she belonged to him, and also let the rest of the world know he belonged to her.

Those deep, beautiful words meant he loved her with all of his heart. He had always loved her, he had loved her all along, and had she known before… But she eventually understood everything. She eventually opened her eyes and saw it was Jim the man she was madly in love with, the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Jim, his best friend, the person she felt connected to, the person she wanted to share everything with.

Those deep, beautiful words meant she had found the one. The one she had always been waiting for.

Those deep, beautiful words meant she was his wife. And they meant he was her husband. Those words somehow materialized their commitment to each other. They materialized the promises they have made each other. They materialized the future they knew they would build together, on the solid bases of their everlasting love.

Those deep, beautiful words, they were her favorites.

Her name was the thing she loved the most about herself, because now her name was his.
