SILVER RAIN
Ziggys Corner: My first chipmunk poem. This is also my second attempt at the Korean poem known as Sijo. There are three lines, each usually 14-16 syllables for a total of 44-46 syllables. Its usually a spiritual, cosmic, or metaphysical poem. The first line presents the problem or situation, the second increases upon what the first line began or adds to it, and the third finishes it off. I hope you like it, I wrote it in the voice of Jeanette, as shes my favorite Chipette.
Like silver rain falling, are my tears upon my cheeks, so pink.
He thinks about her with such awe, I dare not hope for a glance,
How odd, to be rivals with my own creation, with my books star!
Ziggys Zone: Its a short one, I admit. But I liked it. For those confused, basically shes given her first written novel to her love, obviously Simon, but hes so wrapped up in it and the main character, that he over looks the writer.
Thats the trick of the Sijo for those new to it, the third line normally has a surprising or a thought inspiring ending. I opted of course for the surprise ending, I wanted people to think Simon was interested in a different girl a LIVE rival to Jeanette, and in the end, its her own fictional creation. Kind of sad, but I have a hunch that despite this, shell find a way to overcome it. Anyway hope you all enjoyed this. And just to clear things up, as this is a poem, its only a one shot, so no dont expect a second chapter where she tries to get the man.
