Lucius waited in his yard for Gary Albak to show up. The Dark Lord had said-no, ordered him to do that, but nothing else. Lucius wondered why the hell he was getting stuck with that nutjob. Albak was crazier than his sister-in-law, and that was saying something.
A loud horn blasted. He looked up… and Lucius could not help but gawk. There was Albak, in a rather beat-up old car; there were dents everywhere, a few cracks were in the window, and duct tape was all over it. It looked as though you could walk faster than it even if it was going at top speed. Albak drove over, waving and wearing that creepy blank smile that was always on his face.
"Hi Lucius! The Dark Lord said that we were going together for a drive… So what are you waiting for? Hop in!"
He hesitated, since he didn't really trust those Muggle inventions, and didn't like the look of Albak's piece of junk. But he eventually got into the front seat, slamming the door with a bit more force than necessary. Albak only kept on smiling.
But Lucius had barely reached for his seat belt when Albak floored it… and they went spinning, demolishing several of Lucius' hedges, his fountain, parts of his garden, and scattering his peacocks in different directions. However, Lucius did not care, because he was too busy screaming his head off in terror.
Right before he lost his lunch altogether, they just stopped.
"Wha-what the hell was THAT?" he asked shakily, tightly gripping the arm of his seat.
"Okay, you gotta admit that was a little weird… Oh?"
"WHAT? WHAT?"
"Sorry, I forgot I had this thing in reverse!" Albak laughed as he shifted into forward. Lucius did not know what to make of this.
"Now… Let's get this party REALLY started!" Albak hunched forward, the expression on his face not unlike that of a triumphant predator. The engine seemed to roar in response, and they shot off like a bullet when Albak floored it yet again. The gates of Malfoy Manor never stood a chance, despite being warded to the nines. Needless to say, the screaming started anew.
Few years later:
Severus accepted the glass of champagne Lucius had offered him. "Thank you Lucius," he said, taking a sip.
"You're welcome. I trust my son is doing well, Severus?" Lucius said, sipping from his own glass.
"Yes, he is. I am helping him in every way I can, of course."
"Mmmmm." Lucius sipped again.
They were silent for several minutes. Then Severus said, "Lucius, there have been rumors of something terrible happening to you… It supposedly involved Albak and a car… Tell me Lucius, did something really happen?... Lucius?"
Lucius had gone alarmingly pale, more so than usual. His body had gone stiff and rigid as though he had been hit with a Full Body-Bind, and his eyes were wide and blank. "Lucius?" Severus waved his hand in front of Lucius' face. No response. "Lucius, are you alright?"
Lucius' glass slid out of his grasp, smashing into a thousand pieces on the floor and spilling champagne everywhere. "Lucius!" Severus got out his wand, about to clean up the mess.
"Please stop…"
Severus looked up in surprise. Lucius' whisper had been so soft you could barely hear it. "Excuse me?"
"Please stop…Please stop…" Lucius was visibly shaking now. "Albak, please stop… you don't even know what you're doing… please stop… Master, oh Master… I promise, I promise I won't fail you ever again, I promise… I promise… OH MERLIN WE'RE GOING TO DIE WE'RE GOING TO DIE WE'RE GOING TO DIE WE'RE GOING TO DIIIIEEEEEEEE!"
Severus quickly got over his shock, and tried to comfort the man who was curled up on the floor in a fetal position, screaming and crying and sucking his thumb.
