Author's Note: Not really a set time frame, its within a year after the movie so yeah. Uhm, really really short, i mean like half a page short. So yeah, this is my first COMPLETED fanfiction so i hope you enjoy?
Forgotten Words
Mercedes sat by the window, the full moon light falling upon the baby in the crib. She sat writing a letter to Pedro, telling him how life across the border was, humming the lullaby she had forgotten the words to.
She still couldn't remember them, so she started putting in her own as a letter to her sister, best friend, and daughter, Ofelia.
Ofelia look how he's grown, she sang to the tune of the lullaby.
Look at how he has your eyes,
Today he said your name
Sister,
Ofelia.
Ofelia I do miss you, Tears started streaming down Mercedes's face.
I hope that you hear me too,
For what I have to say is true,
I will,
Love you,
and Miss you.
Mercedes couldn't go on, she couldn't carry the tune because of the sobs. And as she looked at teh boy in the crib she thought she saw Ofelia giving him a kiss and waving at her as she disappeared followed by red, blue, and green fairies.
"Mercedes, I love you too, big sister." She heard Ofelia's voice ride the wind out the open window. As the sobs ceased she finished writing to pedro, and began the story of Ofelia, the little princess.
