Hey there! :)

It's been a while since my last ... and only FanFiction. A lot went on over the last few months so I had no time to add any stories to my account. Anyways with the motivation I do have, I've written this little one shot. I've been obsessed with Tokyo Ghoul and I've been reading the manga and watching the 2nd season flat out. And I am huge fan of Kaneki x Touka. I really want to see them get together someday. PLZ.

This story is set in two different times. Present Day; which is just before the start of the new Tokyo Ghoul Manga; Tokyo Ghoul ;re and two years before that time during the Anteiku raid and this little story happens after chapters 128 and 129 for the manga readers.

Like I said, I'm not great at FanFiction but I always get so many ideas for stories. I wish I had the amazing ability to make a good story though. I still enjoy doing this so if you take the time to read this, thank you and I hope you enjoy it :)

Tokyo Ghoul; Don't Go

Present Day

Night had fallen and the sky was lit by the shining stars. The wind was blowing gently, not a sound could be heard. It truely was peaceful. A peace that was very rare in this world. In this world of Ghouls. It had been two years since the raid on Anteiku. The CCG vs the ghouls of Anteiku. It was an all out war of humans vs ghouls. A lot had changed since that night and a lot of questions where left unanswered. Even now there is a lot that is unknown about that night. All that was left was the choas and destruction from that night ... and the heartache.

"KANEKI!" Touka jolted awake. Sweat rolling down her face, her breathing heavy. She sat up and looked around her room before realising it was just a dream. She clasped her hand to her forehead and began to rub her eyes. "Another bad dream ... huh" she sighed to herself. She had these nightmares quite frequently ever since that night. She climbed out of bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen to make herself some coffee. As the coffee brewed, she stood beside the window and looked into the night sky. She knew why she was having nightmares. She knew the reason ... or rather, the person behind him. She hadn't seen "him" since that night. She held her hand up to her cheek and gently stroked it. Just like he had that night.

Two years previously; the raid on Anteiku

"So you're going to go after all, Kaneki?"

"Nishio-senpai ... I have to. I don't want to be unable to do anything."

He lifted his mask from the ground and turned towards Nishiki. Kaneki smiled at him. A smile that make Nishiki feel ... sad. More like, sorrow for the one-eyed ghoul. He had changed so much in the months he had knew him. His quest for strength seemed a lonely one.

Kaneki ran and jumped from the top of the building and preceeded to make his way to Anteiku.

"Don't die ... idiot." Nishiki said with a sorrowful smile.

Kaneki had began sprinting towards Anteiku, taking various short cuts through the city. His only thought was getting to Anteiku in time. "Manager ... Irimi-san ... Koma-san ... please hold on" he mumbled to himself. He swung around a corner to reach a shorter way to Anteiku, through a quiet street that had already been evacuated by the CCG. Suddenly Kaneki was stopped in this tracks, a ghoul appearing out of nowhere right in front of him. His eyes widened. "Touka-chan ... ?"

The young female ghoul stood between him and his destination. "You're going to go, aren't you?" she said with sorrow in her voice. Her gaze unable to meet his.

"I have to ... Touka."

"Why do you have to?" she argued. "You're going to get yourself killed. There is no point ... YOU CAN'T SAVE THEM AND YOU'LL BE KILLED ..."

"The manager ... saved me. You all saved me. Manager, Irimi-san, Koma-san, Hinami, Yomo-san ... and you, Touka. I can't let my friends die. I won't stand aside and do nothing. I have to do this ..."

"You're going to leave me again ... it's not fair, Kaneki ..." she said as she struggled to hold back her tears. "Why can't things be the way they were before? We were all happy then..." she quietly sobbed.

Kaneki started moving closer towards her until he was standing right in front of her. She looked up and finally their gazes met. Tears were now streaming down her face. He thought to himself about how it wasn't fair on her. All she had ever wanted was a normal life. With the people she cared about. He wanted nothing more than for her to be happy. He lifted his hand and stroked a tear away from her left cheek. She looked so sad ... but it was in that moment that he realised just how beautiful she was. Her face changed to a surprised expression.

"Touka ... you saved me. Saved me from myself. And my time in Anteiku will always be in my heart. I will never forget the times all of us had together." He paused. "You know, I was talking with Nishio-senpai earlier and I think I finally understand what he was talking about."

She used her hands to wipe her tears from her face. "What are you talking about ... stupid Kaneki ..."

"About embracing such a good woman until the end ... he was right." He took both hands and put them on her face. "I am lucky to have such a beautiful person in my life ... " he said softly. He looked into her eyes of shock as her face lit up red. He leaned in closer and watched as she closed her eyes and moved her head closer. He kissed her softly, but with passion in it. He had a passing thought during the kiss, before pulling back and smiling at her. "Thank you, Touka-chan..."

Her face was flushed and also with a hint of confusion. Kaneki reach behind her head and swiped it at the back of her head, knocking her unconscious and catching her as she fell.

"You can come out now, Yomo-san."

Yomo approached Kaneki from the shadows of an alley behind them. He knew he wouldn't just let Touka run off on her own incase she did something dangerous. He glanced at her one last time before handing her over to Yomo.

"Take care of her."

Yomo nodded at the eye-patched ghoul. "You're following your own path, Ken."

"I'll see you someday soon, yeah?"

Yomo once again nodded and disappeared with Touka. Kaneki let out a deep breathe and put on his eye patch mask as he looked towards the CCG's guarded zone. His next destination. What would happen next? Not even he knew. All he knew was that he had to save his friends, no matter what. He began running towards the heavily guarded zone.

"Her lips were soft ... and warm ..." he gently mumbled to himself as a smile formed on his face.

Present Day

Touka reached up and touched her lips. The lips that he had kissed on that night. She poured her coffee into her favourite mug as she remembered that night. "His lips were soft ..." she gently smiled to herself. She took her cup and reached over to the light switch. "You will come back ... I have faith in you ... stupid Kaneki" she said as she turned off the lights in the kitchen and went back to bed.
