Never gonna leave this bed
You push me
I don't have the strength to
Resist or control you
Take me down, take me down
It was around two o'clock in the morning, the ball was finished from already an hour and King Henry was laying on his bed thinking about a woman that he couldn't call his. But the problem was that this woman wasn't the beautiful Anne Boleyn, who haven't known yet in that sense, but his wife Katherine, whom he couldn't claim his anymore, not when he asked for divorce, not after the way he insulted her showing Anne as his new conquest. But she, Katherine, his Catalina, was still, there unable to let go, and as stubborn and brave as ever. He thought leaving her was the right thing to do, but now with each passing day, he just felt the need of her, he wanted to feel her close again, indeed like they have never really been.
You hurt me
But do I deserve this?
You make me so nervous
Calm me down, calm me down
He knew he couldn't fight her anymore: she, a woman and with too few friends in England, was clearly winning and the most difficult part to admit was that after all he had done to her, he even felt hurt and angry, because he couldn't control her and he wanted her even if he tried to hide it, because there was something that he wanted more: a heir. But now, alone in his bed, he seemed to care no more, he just wanted to give up. With this thought in his mind, he stood up and, without even realizing it, he was in the Queen's chambers.
Wake you up
In the middle of the night to say
I will never walk away again
I'm never gonna leave this bed, oh
Beautiful. It was the only thing the King could think about Katherine who, thank God, was still his wife and suddenly, watching her sleeping, he couldn't help but realize finally the stupid mistake he was going to make loosing such a beauty.
"Katherine…" he called her, sitting on the bed and touching her shoulder to wake her up.
"Henry…" she simply said, eyes widened, not believing what she saw in front of her.
Maybe she thought it was a dream. Maybe it really was.
"Katherine I… I want you…" he whispered in her ear, placing a kiss in her neck.
She shivered, widening her eyes even more.
"My love, I want you, I love you, you were right, you are always right…" Henry began taking her hand "Please forgive me…" begged then kissing it.
The Queen looked at his husband, he seemed true and above all real: she was not dreaming. She stared at him for a while without speaking, then smiled a little; Henry kissed her and she allowed him, kissing him back.
"Believe me Katherine, I never gonna leave this bed"
