Yes, another one shot. I just felt inspired after this horrible season finale. Oh well. Reviews are awesome :)
Cage of Emotions
A tiny gorgeous blue eyed baby appears in her dreams for months now. He's smiling at her, and the dimples on his cheek are evidence, evidence that his smile is genuine. But he's not even smiling at her; she's not the one who makes him smile. She's trying to call him, scream his name, but he doesn't hear her, and he's just smiling quietly at the person beside her. Whom she can't see.
She opens her eyes slowly to discover it's still dark outside, and she barely even slept.
Ever since she was little, whenever she couldn't sleep, she would turn over on her stomach. It never failed her before, she would fall asleep instantly.
She cannot sleep on her stomach anymore, it's too big and uncomfortable, and the doctor said something about this sleeping position being unhealthy. Not that she listened, she never does. She wants to, she's trying to, but she can't. Listening just makes it real, and she's, well, they call her the queen of denial for a reason.
The weather in Monaco is rather tricky, and it makes her feel distant, unfamiliar with her sorroundings. Not to mention her clothes, that won't even fit anymore.
She's been numb for the past five months, and she's planning to keep it that way. She cannot feel. She doesn't want to.
No one knows, except for Louis and his mom. In fact, she hasn't seen him in a while, and it's painful but understandable at the same time. He asked her to stay, just so he will be able to make sure she's okay and take care of her, but they both know there's no point. It was over the minute the first tear appeared on her cheek, when she told him it can't be his.
She could have had it all, but maybe she's not supposed to.
She's almost five months along, and she decides it's better to go back home. Deal with the consequences.
She takes the first flight she can find. She's going back to reality, straight away from her failed fairytale.
No one waits for her in the airport. Not even Serena.
She couldn't see him at first, but he stands at the corner, leaning on the wall, waiting for her to walk by him. She notices his tall frame from the corner of her eye, and she knows he knows. She stops walking, and she finds herself staring at him, staring at his baby blue eyes and sandy hair. She's staring at his hurt and confused expression and her heart aches. He looks like a lion trapped in a cage of emotions. He doesn't look so strong and confident, like he always does.
She's shifting her gaze to his right hand, which appears to be shaking. She sees a black velvet box when she looks closer. She knows that box, and she knows what's in it. And then she feels it. She feels the unfamiliar sharp pain in her stomach, his first kick. He's already close to her with a blink of an eye. He gingerly reaches his hand and she understands. She grabs his hand, guiding him to the same spot where she previously felt the kick. The second his hand touches hers, she knows it wasn't a mistake. It was never a mistake. Her prince is right here, and they'll make it work. They always do. Her fairytale never ended, it just never begun.
