My second favorite human

Edward and Charlie have their father son time moments before the wedding. My take on their father son talk. Rated T because I don't think I can get away with it being K. Includes a very nervous Edward.

I sat in front of the mirror adjusting my tie for the last time. I was nervous there were so many things that could go wrong. I just wanted her to be happy and that was why I agreed to change her. She wanted it and I could not deny her. There was a knock on the door and for the first time in my life as a vampire my voice cracked. "Come in"

I ran a hand threw my hair, tugging at the strands in distress.

Charlie Swan walked into my bedroom. I turned to him and he grinned at me as I tried unsuccessfully to pull my hair out.

"You okay their son?"

I nodded my head. I was sure if I was human I would be a lovely shade of green. He smirked at me. "Just came to see how you were doing"

He smiled wider at me and I scowled. I reached up to straighten my tie again and then tried to tame the mess I had made of my hair when I tugged at it. "No offense sir but do you need something?"

"As a matter of fact…yes, yes I do" I turned to him and offered him a seat on my leather couch. I sat next to him.

"Okay I didn't come here to pitter patter about this so I am just gonna get it out. But this is a talk that Renee's father gave to me and his wife's father gave to him. So it's only natural that I give it to you."

He produced a piece of paper from the inside pocket of his jacket and continued.

"Dear future son in law. In a few short minutes you're going to be a husband, which in essence means that you can hand your free will over to my daughter. You're most likely pretty nervous right now and let me tell you if you aren't I would be worried. Trust me if I didn't think you were the one for my daughter I would not be giving you this speech. When you go down that isle and you see her then I want no funny business you're going to love her the rest of your life and then some. So I am telling you now as your father in law wipe that nervousness out of your system and go get married." He coughed lightly and looked me straight in the eye. "One day you're going to need to say a speech to your future son in law and you won't know what you will say to him but I hope that you use this. Now get down there and go get married." He got up and turned to the door. "Oh and one more thing Edward, Welcome to the family son"

With that Charlie Swan became my second favorite human. I fingered the letter that had to be at least fifty-sixty years old and smiled. I got up from the couch and looked at the mirror on last time. I tamed as much of my hair as I could and straightened my tie. Ironic how suck a cheesy talk from my future father in law could help cure my nervousness. I walked down the stairs to where the wedding was being held and I took my place at the altar.

I was marrying Bella Swan tonight and I had never been happier to see her on the arm of my second favorite human: Charlie Swan.
