A/N: Ah, it is me (Write) yet again! With another poem/story, I might add. Typical Read sends me a poem & demands a story by morning. Ugh. I guess Read will be Read. I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: We don't know what the triumphant gleam in Dumbledore's eye meant in Book 4 (that's meant to be reavealed in Book 7), so obviously, we're not the extremely talented author of the HP novels.
Just because I want to cry
Doesn't mean I'm going to
Doesn't mean you see me sigh
Still, I'm sitting here without you
He stares, almost blankly, at the bare stretch of wall that once brought him so much comfort. This would be his last night, here, in the dormitory.
That exposed wall haunts him, as it's where he first kissed her. She had laughed and her sapphire eyes danced, and he remembers feeling elated.
He remembers thinking: She can have any bloke in the entire world, but she chose him.
He never thought of what lie ahead.
"It's for the best," he tells himself, even though he knows that it isn't.
10 minutes.
Just because I have to leave
It doesn't mean you're going to grieve
It doesn't mean I catch your eye
It doesn't keep my "I'm fine" a truth, but a lie
He almost opens up his trunk and throws his things all over the room just like they had been only mere hours beforehand: his socks strewn over the bedside table, his inventions crammed into his desk, his photo of her under his pillow…
Almost.
Instead, he gets up and paces the length of the room restlessly.
He recognizes that there is no turning back now.
5 minutes.
Just because I miss you
I'm not finding the will to fight
I'm not seeing sunlight but night
I'm not holding on to anything
He recalls the pained face he received when he told her about his plans. His heart had broken in two to watch her beg for him to stay; not to leave her.
But, like a true Weasley, he kept his resolve and told her, no matter how much it pained him to, that they were over.
He heard from one of her mates the following day that she had cried herself to sleep.
He wishes that he could go up to her, sweep her back into his arms, and tell her that everything was going to be alright.
But he can't.
It would foil the arrangement.
Fred's at the door…
Just because I love you
I know you don't love me back
I can't crack
I'm not letting go
just because… just so you know.
He watches Alicia's lips mouth 'I love you', as he flies into the sunset along side his twin, and he now thinks that he was mistaken. She did, in fact, reciprocate his feelings.
But he has no choice.
He's off –
And now there's no turning back.
For those of you who decide to review (yes, your's not our's), it is Review's (yes, our's this time) Birthday tomorrow, so Birthday Greetings are welcome! (Anybosy else think that it's cool Review's B-Day is the same day as Ron's?)
Well, actually, I'm one to talk, as mine's the same day as Charlie's. Lol.
Thanks for Reading!
