Harry couldn't believe he and his lover were actually spending a whole week of uninterrupted time together. They were on vacation in Africa which was particularly special because it was here that no one knew them.
That meant they could be together out in the open and no one would look at them in disgust. In fact, they would be ignored and treated just like any other tourist. It would be bliss!
In Britain, their relationship was a secret. Here, there were no reasons to keep secrets. It was freeing.
He wondered how long he'd be able to keep up the secret before it killed him. He really didn't know.
Blaise laid out on the bed. He was acrid perfection and looking at him never failed to get the blood in Harry's body to rush south.
Harry swallowed. "Blaise?" he softly called.
The Italian's eyes slowly opened and Harry's doubts were erased within a second. Keeping the relationship a secret wasn't easy, but they loved each other. And love should be able to conquer all. That was something he had always believed, and it had been that little fact that had helped him defeat Voldemort one and for all.
"Yes?" Blaise asked in a smooth voice.
Harry crawled onto the bed, relishing the soft mattress in the upscale wizarding resort. "I love you. You know that, right?"
Blaise sat up. Their gazes locked for an intense moment. "I know," he finally said. "And I love you. Is that all that you wanted to say?"
Harry bit his bottom lip as he thought about whether he should ruin the mood. "Us being together is not always easy."
"No, no it's not," Blaise agreed with a small quirk to his lips. "The question that you should be asking yourself is whether you think our relationship is worth all of the hardships. All of the secrecy. And all of, what we're sure, will be massive disapproval from Wizarding Britain if it was ever discovered."
Harry thought about it. His friends would never understand his relationship with Blaise. In fact, they might never accept it. They might even decide to stop being friends with him. Was one person—even if that person was Blaise—worth losing all of the people he cared about?
He stared into Blaise's dark eyes and could tell the same thoughts were whirling within the Slytherin's head.
The answer was a resounding yes.
