"If you go through that door now Jenna, you'll go for good!"
Her mother was serious, she saw it in her face. She saw the disappointment in her eyes. Also how hurt she was.
But Jenna couldn't help it. She had to do it herself. Stand on her own two feet. Find her own way. Far from the world of her parents. She had never belonged there anyway. But that fact didn't keep her from crying, as she turned and stepped through the door of her parents' house.
Now homeless with only 16 years.
"Jenna…,"she heard her mother call but her legs were moving steadily forward.
Jenna was taken out of her trance from a soft whimper.
Lovingly, she looked at the small bundle in her arms. Elena with her big doe eyes looked at her mother and began to chuckle.
Jenna knew it was the right decision. Determined, she continue to walk away while she pressed her daughter closer to her body.
Jenna's eyes slowly opened. Wow. She had no thought of this day in a very long time. Hadn't dreamed of it. She felt totally whacked and as she turned to her alarm clock, she knew why. Damn, it was only five clock in the morning. On a Sunday. Holy cow. But she couldn't go back to sleep anymore.
Even now with 31 years of age, her mother succeeded to take away her sleep.
Jenna needed a shower, urgent.
After the shower and after she brushed her strawberry blond hair, she went downstairs to the kitchen.
The next thing she needed was coffee, coffee, coffee. Otherwise she wouldn't survive the day.
To her surprise she found her 15 year old daughter already in the kitchen. Reading. Of course.
"Elena, what the hell are you doing at this time in the kitchen?" Jenna yawned., but obviously pleased that Elena had already made coffee.
"I read the brochure of the Mystic High again. I just can't believe that tomorrow is my first day at the private school." Elena was excited and wide awake.
"That's what you deserve sweetheart but damn it is 5.30 clock in the morning" she yawned again.
"I know." Elena replied simply.
"Girl, sometimes I really wonder if we are really related. But nine hours of pain should probably teach me better." Jenna smiled.
