D'Void smiled at Manny in the Null Void. ''Your companions are usually with you. Are you going to arrest me for conquering the Null Void?''
He saw a sudden scowl on Manny's face. D'Void's eyes remained on Manny as he shook his head. ''Are you going to defeat me?''
''That's right, D'Void,'' Manny said before he ran to him. He never forgot about D'Void's pet Null Guardians. Manny saw seven Null Guardians by D'Void. *The Null Guardians are not going to prevent me from defeating D'Void* he thought. He dodged the Null Guardians' fangs after they snapped. Manny viewed D'Void putting his arms up and protecting his face. He punched D'Void's arms repeatedly, but the latter never winced.
A Null Guardian used a tentacle to knock Manny down.
After falling on a rock, Manny winced. The right side of his body ached. He viewed Helen standing near Pierce. Manny saw concern in their eyes.
''Why are you here?'' he asked. He stood at a snail's pace.
''You never rested earlier. You were gone after I woke up,'' Helen said to Manny. She frowned. ''I should have followed you earlier.
Strength in numbers. I could have protected you, Manny.''
Three Null Guardians flew to Helen and Manny with Pierce. Helen's tail struck a Null Guardian and knocked it down. Pierce kicked a Null Guardian's side before it collapsed. Manny dodged the third Null Guardian's teeth and winced again. He gasped after the Null Guardian approached Helen. After wincing another time, Manny ran to Helen and seized her arms. He winced after he dodged the Null Guardian.
Helen's eyes widened. A smile formed on her face. Helen focused on Manny. ''Thanks,'' she said.
''No problem,'' Manny said to Helen.
''We should return to our place. You have to rest, Manny,'' Helen said after a sudden frown. She viewed Pierce carrying Manny and running. She followed them. Helen's smile returned. *Manny protected me. I am happy he was near me while we battled Null Guardians* she thought.
