Mayor Regina Mills' heels clapped loudly on the tile floor of Storybrooke Grocery store. She hoped desperately to be in and out before any annoyances could assault her.
"Madam Mayor."
She heard the all too familiar voice of Sheriff Emma Swan. Spinning around and fixing the tall blonde with a full on Mayor Glare, Regina merely dipped her head in acknowledgement.
Emma ran up to her, panting as she came to a halt directly in front of the mayor.
"Hey!" she sighed between breaths.
"What can I do for you, Ms. Swan?" Regina asked, turning back around and continuing into the store.
"Well," Emma fell into step beside her, "I was just coming in to grab an eggplant."
Regina oozed disinterest as they walked the aisles, and she wondered why Emma had decided to continue accompanying her after she had acquired her goofy looking vegetable.
"Ms. Swan, do you have somewhere to be?" she asked as she reached past Emma to grab some jars of applesauce, a minty, earthy scent crashing into her senses.
"And what is that smell?" Regina was mesmerized, suddenly very warm and excited. Her skin flushed, and a tingling sensation enveloped her entire body.
"Oh, it's just some Patchouli Oil." Emma shrugged. "I don't use it often. Just when I feel like pampering myself." Emma smiled lightly.
"What?..." Emma purred, her eyes dancing. The look being directed at her reminded Emma of a leopard, stalking its prey.
"Oh, well um.. It's nice!" Regina stammered. Mayor Mills actually stammered. Panic rising in her gut, she took a step back, still looking at Emma.
Emma reached up with a long, elegant pinky finger to move an errant strand of curly golden hair out of her eyes. Regina's mouth was suddenly dry. She'd never been so fascinated by a pinky finger! Swallowing against the desert that had become her mouth and running a hand through her cropped hair, Regina returned her attention to the aisle and almost ran to the end of it, stopping only to quickly grab a bag of bread before she turned the corner and disappeared.
Remaining in place, Emma watched the comical scene play out in front of her, a smug smile slowly forming on her lips.
"Worked like a charm!" Emma said under her breath as she sauntered down the aisle in the direction Regina had sprinted.
