The Dark Passenger screams silently as the man on the stand rattles off his testimony in a precise British accent. The evidence in the Hudson case is circumstantial, but this outsider has seen clearly; his own Dark Passenger must lurk behind those pale eyes, craving blood but bound to Justice.
The defendant is guilty, could not be anything but guilty.
How obvious everything becomes when properly explained.
Later, when the jury has returned a verdict of guilty and the sentence is death, the Dark Passenger withdraws, defeated, robbed of the kill.
