Title: A Professor of History

Rating: PG

Summary: Lorenzo is teaching a lesson.

Disclaimer: I don't own the character etc.

This probably doesn't make a lot of sense. I didn't even mean to write it. It was just one of those unconscious thought or free-association writing things.

A Professor of History

Carly had said, "you could be a history professor at some prestigious university."

But what she doesn't know, what she can't see, is that Lorenzo already is a history professor. Not in the conventional sense, no. But he's teaching Sonny Corinthos a very valuable lesson and as all good students know, history repeats itself.

He's studied the ancient ruins of Sonny Corinthos' past. He knows his jealously supercedes any smart business sense. He knows women are his weakness and they taint his judgement.

Lorenzo knows the strong survive. And if he were a fan of animal behaviour, he could recite the breeding habits of any mammal and confirm that there will be a battle of strength, a test of will and power. And if he were a betting man, he'd place the odds against his opponent.

He could tell Mrs. Corinthos that he is the dominant one, but he'd rather her see it for herself. Rather her watch as her husband falls from greatness and his own stamina conquers.

He is Prometheus, set to make his artificial sacrifice to Zeus. For their purposes, a truce stamped in lies. Sonny is steeped in power and disperses it unevenly.

Lorenzo gives Carly fire, placing her in a role higher than the one Sonny accords to her.

The trickery and deceit will pay off in the end, because Sonny is a fool. He will make a mistake. He'll sit back and watch as Sonny does his work for him.

Lorenzo can wait out eternity to be free as long as he falls into the arms of the goddess with golden locks and a swelled belly.

The son will be his salvation.

Pandora will bring hope.

Carly will learn.

He already is a history professor and he knows all the lessons by heart.
