So, this is kind of an idea I had. I have fallen in love with this song and this band. The song is called Free by Twin Atlantic. They are just absolutely wonderful. Check 'em out.

Disclaimer; I own the characters, but not the song. :D

Blue eyes. That's all Sam thought about as he tapped his pen against his desk. He had trusted those blue eyes and he regretted it.

Green eyes. She lied straight to them. Elizabeth sighed as she heard the tapping of a pen. She regretted walking away. There was no other choice.

"Sam!" he had heard his friend holler, but he continued his slow pace to his next class. He felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Beth, are you there?" she heard her friend ask, but she continued drawing on her notebook. She felt a hand on her shoulder.

Sam turned slowly, fearing that he would see blue eyes, but was met with the brown eyes of his best friend. "I called your name, man." Sam shrugged and kept walking.

Beth looked up nervously, fearing green eyes, but was met with the blue eyes of another student she had never met. "That's my seat." Beth shrugged and moved to another seat.

He could hear the seconds tick on the clock. He could hear the music from the headphones she was hiding. He chanced a glance at her, he just wanted to see if she was in as much as pain as him. He was met with blue eyes.

She looked at him. He looked at her. She tried to force a smile. She would be lying to him if she did. She searched the green eyes for any sort of hurt, betrayal, anger. Anything to show he was alive. There was nothing. A blank stare.

It was like a competition for him. Who would look away first? Who would give in? He knew he would. She always won. She won over friends, family, and regrettably, him. She had lied straight to his face, swearing that she was being truthful and she was staring him straight in his eyes. He was never going to be free.

She looked away. She could her emotions begin to well up like a knot in her stomach. It churned and flipped. She was going to be sick. She stood, her chair falling, and ran out of the room. Down the cold, empty hallway and out the front door. She ran until her legs cramped and her lungs burned. She was never going to be free.

She was gone. She had won.

She had left. He had won.

He placed his head in his hands and finally let the tears flow.

She placed her small hands on her stomach where her child should have been.

If you're scared then walk away 'cause there's no need to feel ashamed. Yeah we all feel the same. I fell in love with rock and roll until I found out it was false and plastered on a face for me. Woah, where's you passion? Where's your fire tonight? Woah, I can't believe there's nothing you're willing to hide. Woah, I want to believe I set my body on fire so I could be free.
