So like...I'm doing evil Charming week, and this is my submission for day one and stuff. I hope everyone enjoys it! I know I'm posting it a day late, but I had it done yesterday, and just forgot. Day two, however, will be coming up shortly.

Regina was upset with her mother, furious even, but at the same time, she had expected it. The marriage contract, with King George's Son, Prince James. She had met him once, a few years ago, and he was perhaps the most arrogant person she had ever met. Days like this, she wished she could simply run away and never come back.

As she continued to brush Rocinante, she realized that she could escape from the situation, if only for a while, with her dearest friend. She didn't bother putting the saddle back on Rocinante before jumping on the stead, gripping the mane tightly, and urging him forward.

And how they did run, it was more like flying than anything. Once more, she felt free, from all the expectations and obligations of the world. Her ride had only gotten started, however, when she heard the sound of hooves coming from behind her. She stopped Rocinante, and when the man riding his horse got off, she did the same.

"You're Regina, right" he asked her, trying to sound polished but failing miserably.

"Yes, and you are" she asked guardedly in reply, not liking how he knew her name, or rather her, yet she didn't recognize him.

"I'm Da-I mean James. I'm Prince James" he said, once more trying and failing to sound polished. "Your-" he was about to continue, but Regina cut him off.

"Fiance. You're my fiance" she couldn't quite keep the bitter tone out of her voice as she said that.

"Yes. Well, your mother was looking for you, and I volunteered to retrieve you and" he continued awkwardly. It was a far cry from the cocky and overconfident prince she had meant years ago.

"Thank you" she replied, genuinely meaning it, before preparing to get back on Rocinante, only to fall, and hear a strange popping noise to accompany the pain she was feeling in her ankle.

"Are you okay" James asked, kneeling and looking at it before she could stop him, and saying, once more before she could stop him "You're not, are you."

He then promptly proceeded to pick her up.

"What are you doing" she screeched at him, not believing what was happening. He was acting like a common shepherd! It was practically unbelievable.

"Well…I don't want you to get any more injured" he said like it should be obvious.

Despite the situation, she couldn't help but think that maybe this whole marriage thing wouldn't be so bad after all.
