"Eh? You don't know what THAT feeling is like? Junko-sama would be disappointed in you, Ikusaba-san. I suppose I can explain to you though, since I know what it was like to be a disappointment as well. Let's see... That feeling is like how the floor is collapsing... Like how the sky is falling upon you... Yes, that's the best way to describe that feeling. To describe... "
"Despair." Mukuro finally knew what Tsumiki meant when she had explained that feeling. That was exactly how she felt as she looked over Junko's corpse. She was lucky that no one walked into the Data Processing Room to see this.
Why did it have to end up like this, Junko? I wanted you to live... But that wasn't what the strawberry blonde wanted. Not at all. What she wanted was to get Mukuro to kill her, betray her, making both she and Mukuro despair.
Mukuro had vowed to never harm Junko. She was the only person she had left… But a soldier could not go against their superior's orders. After all, what kind of loyal soldier would she be if Mukuro couldn't follow a simple order? So she killed Junko. For despair.
"So the loyal dog finally decided to kill her master hmm? I never expected you to do this, since you're such a disappointment." Junko grinned, coughing up some blood. The ravenette watched as the blood dripped on Junko's plans, staining some parts of it. The younger twin looked down at the dagger she was impaled by and let out a laugh.
"So you're letting me die slowly huh? Thought you'd let me die quickly y'know." Her voice was getting weaker. And laughing wasn't helping her. "How… wonderful…. I guess you're… not a disappointment this… time around… Muku-nee..."
Then, she went limp.
What was she supposed to do now? That was Mukuro's question as tears rolled down from her cheeks. Without someone to take orders from, a soldier was useless.
Unless... Mukuro looked at the stained papers on the floor. She picked it up, not minding that Junko's blood was covering some parts of it. She skimmed through the paper, already knowing most of the plan.
I'll become the mastermind… For Junko... The ravenette let out a small smile, looking at her sister's corpse again.
"... Junko, I finally get why you wanted the world to see our classmates despair." She didn't get it at first when her sister had first told her about it but now she understood.
To see the symbols of hope killing each other would be wonderfully despairing for everyone across the world, whose last hope were the students. Mukuro kneeled down and closed Junko's eyes and her smile grew wider.
"Don't worry Junko, I'll make this all work out… I'll take over and paint this world in despair."
Mukuro hoped that she wouldn't be a disappointment this time.
A/N: After having writer's block for a bit, I finally managed to write something! It's not the best thing I wrote but I hope you like it anyway, I noticed that there weren't any mastermind!Mukuro stories so I decided to write this. Anyways, please review! I'd like to see what you thought of it since I've always thought that Mukuro might've done this if Junko ordered her to kill her, so I'd like to see if you thought if this would happen too. Thank you for your time reading this and have a nice day!
