Marie Saunders let her dark brown hair blow in the wind as she tried to put things away outside before the big storm hit. She quickly shut all the stuff around the pool into the small shed beside it. As the rain started to pour, Marie made a mad dash for her back door. Just as she reached it a large bolt of lightening cracked down and hit a nearby tree. Her best friend Jess opened the sliding glass door and pulled Marie inside.

"You should have just left the stuff out there, you could have gotten killed," Jess screamed.

Marie chuckled to herself and walked into the bathroom. She started pulling a comb through her hair.

"So your glad you decided to stay now, aren't you," Marie asked.

"Why do you say that," Jess asked

"Because without your help I'd be lying out there fried by lightening", Marie giggled.

All of a sudden the power shut off and Jess screamed. Marie's cell rang and she picked it up.

"Hello," Marie said

"Hello Beautiful," James, Marie's boyfriend, said into the phone.

"You know it's not smart to be on a phone during a thunderstorm right," Marie asked.

"Of course," James said, "but it seems like my girlfriend won't answer the door and I've been standing here for 5 minutes."

Marie ran to the door and opened it laughing. She quickly apologized and ushered him in. As soon as she shut the door though, a loud crash came from upstairs.

"Uh oh," James murmered
