I wrote this for my class and it said to give your character a problem that society has and this is what I came up with.

Today, I woke up groggily from my brother Jace yelling about how the coffee maker was broken. I decided to exit the Lightwood mansion and head to the coffee shop to get some coffee for me and my siblings. When I walked into the coffee shop there behind the counter was the most beautiful man I've ever seen. I walked up to the counter ordered one skinny chai latte and two coffees black just how I liked it. The man asked for a name for the order. After a short wait only about five minutes he called my name, handed me my order, and my receipt. Once I was in the car I noticed a name and number on my receipt.
Later that day, I texted the number and in less than a minute there was a response.
Alec: Hi
Magnus: Hello, How are you today?
Alec: I'm fine, thanks. And you?
Magnus: I'm ok but, I would be even better if you went on a date with me.
Alec: Ok I'll go out with you.
Magnus: Yay! I'll pick you up at 7:00pm.
Alec: Sounds good to me.
"Izzy, Izzy, Izzy, I need your help with something." I said. "With what?" she said. "Izzy I got a date." "What, with who?" "Well you see if I tell you, you can't tell mom or dad" I said ashamedly. "What is it? I promise I won't tell." " Well you see I'm gay." "Alec, I already knew. It was obvious when we were in high school. You never looked at girls, and you always looked at other guys." " Well thanks for understanding now I need help getting ready for my date." "Ok" she said.
Soon Izzy handed me a pair of black jeans and a button down blue shirt that was the same shade as my eyes that I've never worn before. Then she combed my hair then messed with it claiming it has to be messy but not too messy. Right as Izzy was finishing with dressing me up the doorbell rang, and I went running down the stairs as fast as I could. Obviously me being me tripped on the last step and ended up sprawled across the floor. Izzy a couple steps behind me watched me fall, rolls her eyes, and continues to skip towards the door while I'm still trying to get up.
She opens the door while squealing. She then shoves her hand out and says "Hello, I'm Alec's sister Izzy and it's so nice to meet you." Then Magnus looks behind him and says "Hello Alexander, I hope you're as excited as Izzy is for our date." "Don't worry I am." I said. "Shall we departure." he says. "Yes" I say, while grabbing the arm he has held out for me. The car ride to the restaurant is spent in a comfortable silence. During our date we talked and laughed, and when it was time to leave a grew sad.
He walked me to the door and just as he was about to kiss me at the end my parents came out screaming about how I was just going through a phase and how no son of theres will ever be gay. Then I told them that it was not a phase and that I was an adult and didn't care what they thought. After that they said I had a week to figure this "issue" out before they threw me out.
