"Hear me little one"

He could hear his treads but he didn't recall that he wanted them to move.

"Nos-4-A2 calls to you…"

No. This was a bad dream. Nothing but a bad dream. He would just close his eyes now and wake up then… any second… now…

Ouch!

What have you done?

Chapter 1 - Graduation

-

"I congrate you Savy, you did great."

Holding her exam she smiled as she recognised him and walked over to the man.

"Thanks Buzz."

She wouldn't call him "Mr. Lightyear" like everyone else. Heck no, she knew him.

"I never thought I'd get this happy here when you first suggested this to me."

Booster at Buzz's left smiled. He was happy about every new ranger and Mira seemed to be all enchanted by Savy's wannabe cuteness this very moment. And yes indeed, she did look cute in her very own space-suit. After all… she still remembered her as a kid.

-

"Say…" the girl asked, "where's XR?" while she was looking for him. Out of all the members of team Lightyear she would have expected him most to come. As nice as team Lightyear might have been, she still had the most trust to him. He was a robot. And she was an ex-orphan adopted by robots. She felt well when being around them, might they be as nasty as hell, they were still better company than humans in her point of view. Well, most of them. There is always ONE exception. But it was due to this one exception that she met Buzz and XR. And as for XR – she liked him. As a matter of fact – she really liked him. And she thought that he would like her too. Until now. Now she began to doubt.

"I don't know," Mira said, "He really wanted to come."

"He was talking about nothing else the last days," Booster added.

"Not even about his 'chicks'" Mira thought, but kept it for herself. This day really meant a lot to both of them… so why wasn't he showing up?

"I guess I'm gonna look for him," Savy said as she passed the team heading for XR's charger-room.

-

She knocked.

"XR?"

Nothing.

She scowled. Now that was just rude. She had thought they were friends.

"XR?" she asked again.

A few years ago she simply would have used her blazooka by now to blow the door open. She totally would have and the thought of that made her giggle. But since Mr. Parsec managed to blow Nos-4-A2 up it had been really relieving and lighthearted years for Savy, her family and XR. They grew good friends after that and still liked to joke about the old vampire… now that he couldn't cause them any more trouble.

And still there was no answer.

-

Maybe he forgot to time his alarm… or maybe he wasn't even there.

Possible.

Anyway she tried the door and it was open – revealing a tired looking robot lying uncomfortably on the floor close to a charger unit. A… broken charger unit?

It shot some sparks here and there.

-

Maybe XR had accidentally short-circuited himself. And that today.

She shook her head.

Oh, XR…

-

She wanted to help him up and roll him to the LGMs. The poor thing was offline, a short-circuit must be painful… so much energy at once…

And while she turned him around to push him to the science bay she didn't notice the two little holes in his front chest.

Didn't see them.

Didn't want to see them.

Nos was dead after all… there was no need for checking.
