"Mom?" Clarke knocked softly on the door. Fearing to wake her but also hoping it would wake her. Grown and mature as Clarke made herself to be; at times she knew she was still a frighted child needing the comfort of her mother. she suspected her mother was needing the same.

She knocked again before slowly pushing it open. There was a lantern left on the far desk which allowed her to see her surroundings. As Clarke approached the bed ready to join her mother in it she froze. Her mom already had company.

Marcus's arm was draped around her waist pulling her towards himself. Clarke watched them breath softly for a few moments and when her mom started to increase her breathing and start to fight what Clarke knew had to be a nightmare; with his eyes still closed Marcus whispered "it's safe you're okay." and she stopped fighting breathing returned to normal. Clarke retraced her steps and closed the door. She find her own comfort somewhere else.
