"Uh Mom?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you have a tv in the living room?"
"Because I wanted one, Lorelai."
"Mom, I have a question for you, but I don't want you to get mad."
"Aw ask me anything."
"Why did you and Dad separate? Was it because of Jason or Pennilyn Lott?"
"Wow. Um we separated." Emily started to cry "We separated because he had lunch with Pennilyn Lott for 40 years and never told me."
"Oh Mom."
Emily started to talk but Lorelai stopped her.
"Did you ever cry in the moment Mom?"
"No. I didn't. I couldn't bring myself too."
Emily started to cry even more. She was sad and angry all over again
"I'm sorry Mom. I didn't mean to do this to you."
"It's fine. Really. I needed this. Thank you. I haven't cried in so long."
As Lorelai went to the fridge for ice cream Emily laid down on the couch. She put her hands in her face and kept crying. When Lorelai came back, Emily sat up and hugged Lorelai.
"Lorelai, I knew since the day you were born that we were going to be best friends. I'm just glad we overcame our differences and can get along now."
"Me too, Mom, me too."
