A/N: Not much to say, I randomly came out with this idea. It'll probably be one of the many one-shots I'll be publishing soon! ^_^ I might actually make a series of one shots, if you guys like this one.

Freedom
Freedom. What he always wanted.
Jaune Arc continues running, the sense of freedom with him. Never will he look back. Never. No one can stop him. No one.
He runs as if there's no tomorrow, not giving a single care about the direction he's going. All he knows is that he has to escape. Reach freedom. Something he always wanted.
The rush of freedom. The thrill. He loves it. He loves every moment in which he doesn't play the role of the 'damsel in distress'.
He was sick and tired of it. All his friends fighting for their lives. They were the heroes. Not Jaune Arc, the dork stuck in trees. The boy everyone has to save. The hero wannabe.
Night has fallen. The only light there was from the twinkling stars. But he doesn't mind, nor care. All he needs is to hold to this feeling. The feeling of freedom. Freedom from playing a role he was doomed with.
"Freedom."
He slowly said the world, a small smile forming on his lips.
"Freedom."
The word escapes his mouth, a bigger smile following.
"Freedom!"
His voice gets louder, no longer saying the word in a whisper.
"FREEDOM!"
The word rings with victory. He smiles and continues running. Where? He wasn't sure, he just needed to run.
Freedom. He always wanted that.
His thoughts shift to why. He had it all good, right? No. He didn't.
He was always pressured into being a hero. It was in his blood. His own blood.
He remembered how his father would talk to him about stories of heroes, and how he was desperate to have Jaune becoming one. Jaune started wishing to become like his father. A great man. A great hero.
Then came disappointment. His father had trained him, but it was no good. Jaune wasn't made for this. His father was furious.
Jaune wanted to prove him wrong. That's when he grabbed those transcripts and lied about his abilities. He soon came to Beacon with high hopes. All to be shattered.
Everyone was made for this. Not him. Not Jaune Arc.
He slowly let the idea go. And that's how he ended up here.
With freedom.
He remembered everyone he was leaving behind:
The happy, bubbly fifteen year old Ruby Rose. Hero? Yes.
The cold hearted heiress, Weiss Schnee. Hero? Definitely.
The mysterious Blake Belladonna. Hero? Same as above.
The energetic Yang Xiao Long. Destined to be a hero.
The same went for Nora and Ren, but there was a certain red head he had to think of.
Phyrrha.
She was far more superior! She could have bullied him, abandoned him, rejected him! But she didn't. Why? He had no clue. All she wanted was to help. Yeah right.
Out of pity.
Everyone had pity towards him. He was sick of it.
But everything would change. No. It already has.
Jaune Arc will not be the Damsel in Distress.
Jaune Arc will not be the hero.
Jaune Arc will be free.
Jaune Arc will never look back.
Jaune Arc will not be stopped by anyone.
Not even Phyrrha.
Because Jaune Arc was now free.
He had freedom. All he ever wanted.
With a smile, Jaune ran deeper into the forest, chanting the words freedom over and over again.
"Freedom!"
