Looking Glass – Prologue
She was different, that's all.
But because she was so different, her life had been a violent storm.
It wasn't her fault. No. Indeed it wasn't, "Then why do they blame her?" you may ask, because my children, humans are afraid of what they cannot control. They are also afraid of the unknown.
And that's what she was…
The unknown.
Though she was not the only one of her kind. No, of course she wasn't. There were many more. They were called angels. They were called monsters. A blessing. A curse.
But, to everyone around her she was…
A curse.
A demon was what her family called her. She often locked herself in a small dark room, which contained nothing but a mirror. The mirror was an escape to a life that often haunted her dreams wile she leaned on the wall opposite of it.
The mirror was her sanity.
The room was her sanctum.
All the same, it was still her prison.
She was different, that's all.
But because she was so different, her misery fell like rain all around her.
…
…What an unlucky little girl.
