So this just popped into my head the other day and I just had to write it. It's really short (sorry), but I'm really proud of it. Let me know what you think. :) All mistakes are mine, feel free to correct me.

Oh, and I don't own anything Stargate Atlantis related. (No matter how much I wish I did.)

When John Sheppard died it wasn't in a blaze of glory. It wasn't to save the life of a friend or to protect the city. In the end it was known that he would go, it was just a matter of time. An illness that the doctors couldn't figure out took his life. It was a small mercy that he went in his sleep, after all the suffering he went through. He didn't go in the city that he considered home, but back on the planet of his birth. There were few around who actually knew him. An old General in the Air Force who was once his second in command, the only child of his only female teammate, and an ancient Czech scientist were the only ones present who could claim the honor of having really known him. The rest of his friends having died years before, protecting the city they all cared for. It was his dying wish to see his city (because no one could argue that it wasn't his) one more time, but red tape prevented that. So they brought his ashes back to the majestic city in another galaxy to be lied to rest in the Lantian Sea with the rest of his family. Neither galaxy knew what they lost the day John Sheppard died.

There you go. Please review. ;)
