Few people who don't live on Atlantis believe she is alive. But those who live within her walls know it to be so. She sees everything that goes on but she never tells.
She knows that Elizabeth Weir cries herself to sleep many nights. It's worse on the nights after someone has died.
She knows the real reason Rodney McKay works all hours. He has dreams about monsters. Monsters who wear the faces of the Wraith, the Goa'uld, the Genni, and his father.
She knows that Radek Zelenka keeps careful records of whom he trades his home made booze to. How much and how often they get it. He then gives this to Dr. Heighmeyer, so she will know in case someone develops a drinking problem.
She knows that Miko has found a lump in her breast, and is terrified it is cancer.
She knows Carson Beckett prays every night. He prays for his mother, his friends and himself.
She knows John Shepherd is plagued with self-doubt. He blames himself for the danger they have to live with every day and fears the day his actions will get someone else killed.
She knows Halling worries that the Earthers are corrupting the children. Even though everything they have done only helps his people.
She knows Ronon Dex feels trapped in her walls. Some nights he paces his room like a caged animal.
She knows Peter Gordon was HIV positive when he died and that only he and Dr. Beckett knew it. She does not know how ever he kept it from the SGC, CMO.
She knows Teyla sometimes feels she made the wrong choice in joining with the Earthers. But will stand by her choice no matter what.
She knows Chuck has been drinking more than he did at first, and that Dr. Heighmeyer has already spoken to him about it. Chuck now trades with one of the Athosians for booze.
She knows one of the support crew has taken his own life, and that the technician who finds him days later will have to be sent back to earth under sedation.
She knows everything, but is helpless to do anything about it.
For that is her curse.
