Taking Chances (PG13)

Yuki slipped out of Kel's bedroom, whispering "Is he gone yet?"

Kel nodded. "Yuki, that was too close!"

The Yamani shrugged. "We were not in any danger."

"Yuki…" Kel groaned. "We were here, and we barely heard Neal knock on the door! He could have walked right in!"

"But he didn't," she pointed out.

"But he could have!" Kel argued, throwing her hands up. "What would we have done then?"

Yuki took Kel's hands carefully. "We would explain."

"It would crush him," Kel looked down at their twined fingers, Yuki's long and slim, her own covered in scars. "If Neal or Dom ever find out about this, it will crush them. They can never know." She pulled away, crossing to the other side of the room. "Why are we doing this?" she cried.

"You know why," Yuki said gently, touching the other woman's shoulder. "Tell me you'd have it any other way." The Lady Knight was silent. "Kel, I love you." Yuki whispered.

"I know, Yuki." Kel sighed. "I love you too. But I do care about Neal, and Dom, and if they find out—"

Yuki cut her off with a hand over her mouth. "Kel, we're always taking chances. And I know you wouldn't have it any other way."

Anything for You (PG13)

Yuki coughed again, her now-thin body shaking. Neal and Kel, seated on either side of her, winced as she finally settled back onto her pillows.

"Are you comfortable, dear?" Neal asked frantically, his thumb travelling over Yuki's small hand.

"I'm fine." She tried to smile, but her face was thin and drawn.

"Are you sure?" Kel was hesitant, watching Yuki with clear hazel eyes. "Isn't there anything I can do for you?"

Yuki shook her head, her black hair falling over her shoulders. "Not right now," she murmured. "Not right now."

The three of them sat in silence for a long moment before Baird knocked lightly on the door, calling for his son. Neal rose to his feet, glancing at the door.

"I'll be back in a moment, love," he whispered to Yuki, kissing her forehead before he left the room.

Yuki sighed, her hand finding Kel's. "You could do something for me now," she murmured.

"What?" Kel asked, only to have Yuki's fingers twine in her hair, pulling her face closer to the Yamanis.

"I think you know," she breathed.

Kel grinned as she brought her lips to Yuki's. "Anything for you."
