For my friend, Alice and this scene was inspired by a scene in the movie, Raise Your Voice.

Sunlight was meekly coming through the window panes as Eugenie made her way through the school halls. Music was something her mother had wanted her to learn so she had arranged for her daughter to attend one of the most prestigious music schools the country had to offer.

Eugenie wasn't so sure if her mother's choice in school was her favourite. There were plenty of arrogant people that did their fair share of trying to annoy her. But there was one person here that made Eugenie want to stay.

She could hear the sounds of those gentle fingers playing such beautiful melodies on the piano. This person helped Eugenie stay sane in this crazy, tumultuous place.

Louise.

She was a quiet, gentle, soft-spoken girl with light blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes that reflected the gentle sky outside. There she sat on her piano playing one of the many songs she could.

Eugenie made herself known as always, by sitting down next to her and asked, "What are you playing today?"

Eugenie always took care not to surprise Louise because she had a heart condition and worried what others would take as harmless to Louise's heart would result in the loss of someone so important to her.

Louise glanced over at Eugenie and smiled as she replied, "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair. I just learned it today."

Eugenie laughed.

"You wouldn't know that by how beautifully you play it."

Louise laughed too and said, "Oh no. I still have a lot to improve upon."

As she continued to play, the two girls became lost in the music. As Louise played the last few notes in the song, she looked over at her friend and smiled. When she finished the song, she cocked her head and asked, "Would you like me to teach you how to play it?"

"Oh no. I could never manage to make it sound as pretty as you do besides I came here to listen to you play. I can learn some other day."

Louise nodded and began to play another favourite of hers - River flows in you. Eugenie became enveloped in the music and lay her head upon her friend's shoulder.

The two stayed in that room till late at night. Louise playing the piano and Eugenie listening to the beautiful music Louise was able to produce from that equally beautiful instrument.
