Note: Written for drinkingkoolaid 's first challenge. Not sure what I was thinking when I wrote this, but here it is!

Summary: Duncan and Veronica just give in.

"This…this is weird." Veronica said, pulling away from the guy she was kissing.

"Since when have you ever lived life by the book?" He asked, grinning at the blonde.

"Good point." She smiled, giving in to the kisses he was planting on her face.

Her dad was in the hospital. She knew who murdered Lilly. Then Lilly's murderer tired to kill her and her father. But the truth was out. All of the truths everyone had been hiding for so long.

"You know why this feels so good?" She said, teasing him by lightly biting his earlobe.

"Why?" He gasped, knowing that she knew what she was doing was driving him insane.

"Because for so long, it was so forbidden." She replied. Then he abruptly pulled away.

"Forbidden, huh?" He said, now denying the snarky blonde of his lips.

"Yeah." She replied, trying to coax his lips to hers. "Like chocolate for a fat kid."

"Oh, right." He grinned, allowing her hands to guide his mouth to hers again.

He had shown up on her doorstep that afternoon. They were both tired and both of their families were in shambles, but when she smiled at him when she saw him standing in her doorway, they both knew it was right.

Veronica had told him she wanted to get away from her apartment, from everything and everyone. And he obliged, taking her to his family's secluded beach house just outside Neptune. Once there, he lit the fire in his parent's rarely-used master suite as she gazed around in amazement.

"I still can't believe your mom just leaves precious jewels lying around like this." She said as he laid back on the bed in defeat, realizing that he was going to get nowhere until she was done asking questions.

"Well, it's not like she doesn't have enough at home. And in a safety deposit box at Neptune National." He sighed.

"Oh, are you playing poor little rich boy?" She teased, lying down next to him.

"Veronica, I haven't kissed you in over a year. That's kind of all that's running through my mind right now." He replied, his hand grazing her arm as she tucked her head into his chest.

"Mhh, you mean you've thought about me?" She asked, closing her eyes.

"Every single day." He replied, knowing that under her playful tone there were insecurities about their relationship that she would never actually admit.

"Good. Glad I left an impression." Veronica said snarkily, her eyes closing. Duncan smiled as Veronica's breathing become slower. Duncan gingerly touched her black eye, hating himself for letting this happen to her. He could have gone with her. There's not much chance Aaron could have taken both of them.

"Duncan?" A sleepy Veronica asked.

"Yeah?" he replied, looking at the groggy girl.

"Stop blaming yourself." She replied, reaching up to kiss him and then snuggling back into his arms.

Duncan smiled. "Fair enough." He conceded, shifting and laying down as well, pulling her closer.
