Caroline walked back down into the cellar. She didn't know what she was going to find, but she wasn't going to run from it. Caroline saw Tyler laying on the ground and walked toward him. She didn't know what had happened, but she couldn't just leave him there. "Tyler?" she said as she neared him.

Just then Tyler awoke and looked at her. "Caroline?" he said.

"Hi," she said. "I'm sorry I ran."

"What?" he asked.

"Earlier," she reminded him. "You really scared me."

Tyler just stared at her.

Caroline looked into his eyes then and what she saw there had horrified her. "You're not who I think you are," Caroline replied. "You're Klaus."

Tyler smiled. "Quite right," he said.

"I'm going to kill Bonnie," Caroline replied.

"You could," Tyler replied.

"I could," Caroline agreed, "but unlike you, I'm not that kind of vampire. I know why Bonnie chose Tyler."

"Enlighten me," he said.

"Alaric ousted me and Tyler as vampires to the counsel," Caroline replied. "We were leaving Mystic Falls tonight."

He stared at her. "That little witch," he said.

"I'm still leaving tonight, Klaus," Caroline replied as she turned to him. "You can come with me and be with me, or you can stay here and ruin the lives of my friends and lose out on a chance to be with me." She looked at him. "Your choice."

Caroline gave him the ultimatum of all ultimatums that would be desirable to him. He wanted both, and he knew that she knew that he wasn't going to get both.

He walked to her. "I choose you, Caroline," he said and then they kissed.
