Beetle Eyes and Love Lies: Rita Skeeter's Revenge
Rita Skeeter, the rude reporter, had been kept in a jar on Hermione Granger's bookshelf for over a month now, and she was getting tired of it. She had air in there, for Hermione, who hated cruelty to any sort of living being, opened the jar once a day for 20 minutes. When Hermione went on vacation for a weekend, she left the jar on the shelf. Bad Idea. "Yes!" muttered rita, in a beetle-ish tone. "I am FREE!" She walked up the side of the jar and pushed with all her might. The jar tipped off the shelf, and broke. And Rita Skeeter was free.
She quickly transformed back into Rita Skeeter, not that dredful beetle. And quickly headed out the door to buy a new Quick Quotes Quill & parchment. Using the quill, she hurridly wrote a nasty article about Hermione and then sent out the nearest bluebird to the office with it.
The following day, the article was published. And Hermione, who was in Scotland, saw it. So did the rest of the European wizarding world. Hermione Clipped it out, made copies, and sent one to Ron & Harry each. Then she burnt the last 98 copies, including the original, in her blue flames that she so easily conjures.
