Lucas Scott stood with his feet planted to the ground. The world began to spin as he began to lose his breath. His body began to give out and his heart was slowing. His lungs were losing air and his mind blank. The picture before him was like a knife through the chest. Like a gun shot to the heart. Like a glass splinter making its way through the body. He collapsed to his knees and he watched the love of his life get taken away.

"Lucas Scott, I love you."

"Lucas come on! You're gonna make us late."

"Stop! Luke! Stop" She laughed loudly...

Her laughs echoed through his ears and her smile invaded his eyes as he ran to her side. She was gasping for air and her eyes were slowly losing their spark. He whispered loving words in her ears as his tears began to leave their salty trail down his face. He rocked back and forth, still holding onto her as tightly as he could.

They were sitting on a small bridge by her favorite lake. Lucas' arms were wrapped around her body as she leaned into him. He smiled as he kissed her hair, staring at the sunset before them. He felt her move and looked down to see her staring up at him, her eyes glowing. The reflection of the sun's setting rays bounced off the lake's glistening water, giving her a yellow/orange glow.

As he stared into her eyes, he saw worry and fear. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"I-I'm just scared about what's gonna happen next. You know, after college and all that. And-"

"Hey!" He whispered lovingly, "I am going to be right here with you. No matter what. I am always gonna be here and we are always going to be together. I promise." Lucas pulled her to him and held her close...

Lucas felt her life slowly being drained from her body. Sobs began to rip through his body, tears began to pour down his face like a heavy rainfall. He ran his hand through her bloody, blonde hair. He pulled away a little, staring down at her.

She smiled loosely, "Lu-Luke."

"Shh. Don't speak, okay. Just wait, please. I can't lose you. Not like this, not now! Okay, just hang on alright! Don't leave me!"

"I-I lo-lo-love you. Lucas S-Scott. Al-alway-always and f-for-ever." She smiled again as her eyes slowly closed.

"No, no. Don't do this to me! Haley! Don't leave me! I need you! I love you! Haley, please!" Lucas shouted at her lifeless body, his sobs getting the best of him.

Two days later, Lucas stood with his mother and Haley's mother at his sides. Tears still poured down his face as her body was lowered into the ground. He couldn't breathe and he couldn't feel anything but the numbing pain.

A month later, Lucas was walking around town. Things still hadn't gotten better. All he though about was Haley and all he saw when he looked into another woman's eyes was her. She haunted him, she lived around him, she was within him. He couldn't shake her, not that he tried to. He couldn't let her go, he didn't want to.

He walked out into the middle of the road, stopping. He turned to his left as a car came barrelling into his side, white lights engulfing him.

"Lucas!"
