Blue
"Annabeth!" Percy called to his wife frantically. He had heard a crash. She called out "I'm here!" He ran to the kitchen of there apartment too see a broken flower vase on the floor, in a million pieces. Annabeth looked frusterated, and Percy figured that she had knocked it over. Her big, nine-month belly had caused a lot of crashes lately, Percy didn't understand why he still jumped.
He held back laughter and she glared at him. "It isn't funny!"
"It kinda is." He said chuckling. He took her in his arms and kissed her, then stroked her belly lovingly. "Hi sweetie" He whispered, and Annabeth smiled as the baby kicked her. She loved daddy's voice already.
"She can really hear me?" He asked, still incrediously.
"Yup." Annabeth smiled and said "Momma loves you, sweetie. We love you."
Their baby hiccuped.
Percy looked panicked. "Well, what was that?"
Annabeth laughed softly. "She has the hiccups. Tons of babies get hicccups before there born."
Little one hiccuped again, as if proving her mothers point.
The happy parents laughed together at there child. Babies were lovable and adorable even before they were born!
Annabeth smiled. "You know, we still have that bet."
"It's a girl. I'm gonna win that twenty bucks."
"It's a boy! And I'm sure he'll be as annoying as his father. Hopefully he will inherit my ginormous brain."
"Don't flatter yourself."
"You know its true!"
"Yah, shut up wise girl."
Annabeth sighed. "You will never grow up, will you? Stop calling me that."
"I will not change just cause your pregnant. Isn't that your job anyway, Ms. Pregnancy horomones?"
Annabeth tried to hit him, but almost fell over in the process.
They both laughed, and Percy kissed her hair.
Annabeth would have kissed him back, but she got a bit distracted when water ran down her legs.
"Percy…" She said nervously.
"What?" He said softly, totally unaware.
"Percy my water just broke!"
He froze, and ceased his stroking of her gold hair. She stepped back and snapped him into action. She started breathing heavely, then doubled over in pain. Percy held her, and murmered that it was going to be okay, then left her to grab some snacks for when they were at the hosptal. Then he ran out into the street with her and did the best taxicab whistle Annabeth had ever heard.
When they fnally got to the hospital, Annabeth yelled as a contraction hit. She ahd timed them, they were approximetly 20 minutes apart.
In the hospital room, Annabeth sat on her stupid hospital bed for 14 FREAKING hours. By then, Anabeth forgot her former wish to do it natural and just took the epidural. She wanted to just get it over with. As did Percy, for living off starbucks and trying to convince Annabeth to eat as well was not fun, and he wanted Annabeth to be relieved of the pain.
Finally, it was time. (A/N Sorry, I don't know the details about birth. C'mon, I'm twelve!)
Their doctor held up a little squirming pink thing. He said, "Congradualations, it's a healthy baby girl."
Percy knew Annabeth was too tired to give him his twenty bucks right now, so he kissed Annabeth and said, "I told you so."
Percy picked up his little girl, and she opened her eyes. They were deep, beautiful blue! Percy was confused. He didn't want to ruin the moment, so he kissed his little girl on the forehead. Annabeth gestured for him to hand her to her. Annabeth expressed the same surprise as him. Then she said, "Well, my father has bluey-gray eyes, and your mother has blue eyes, so technically, it is possible."
Percy laughed softly. His eyes were sea green, but hers were ocean blue. They were beautiful.
They named her Alivia Lily Jackson, Lily for the water flower. Annabeth and Percy looked each other, holding there baby, and Annabeth said, "I must say I'm surprised Percy."
He was confused. "About what?"
"You were right about something!"
