A/N: The prompt was "bridge", and this takes place in TLO when Percy and Annabeth are running around Manhattan acting as reinforcements to the different cabins.

The moon had just risen into the sky when Annabeth and I arrived at the Queensboro Bridge. The Demeter kids had set up shop, growing plants to barricade the bridge and tripping their enemies with tree roots. It didn't look like they needed much help, but it was so close to my mom's apartment that I didn't want to take any chances.

"There's a huge group of empousae leading the siege," Katie Gardner filled us in, crouched behind an abandoned Progressive Insurance! van. She had a few wilting flowers in her hair and her palms were covered with dirt, which seemed a little unusual this deep in the city.

Annabeth glanced at the enemy. "There's a lot of them. Percy, take left flank. Katie, your cabin is doing great. Keep up the good work. I'll see if I can take down that herd of hellhounds." She glanced at a group of Demeter kids surrounded by two or three of Mrs. O' Leary's kind.

"Got it," Katie said, and darted back into the battle.

"C'mon," Annabeth told me, tugging me out from behind the van. "Let's go kick some monster butt."

I blinked, drawing Riptide. "Hey, hey wait a minute. You forgot your promise."

"What?"

"I beat the Minotaur, didn't I? On the last bridge we visited. Where's my kiss?"

"In case you forgot, I got stabbed," she pointed out, rolling her eyes. "Not much of a chance to kiss you." But she reached out, placing a hand firmly on my shoulder, and planted a kiss on my cheek. I grinned stupidly, figuring it was better than nothing, and then charged into battle.
