Victoria's POV

I watched with a death stare as Edward danced with his precious human. The fragile brunette was so clumsy she was dancing on his feet! I stifled a black chuckle. It wouldn't do for Edward to hear me, now would it? An idle portion of my mind wondered why he didn't hear me now. Probably wrapped up in his beautiful Bella.

But the greater portion of my mind was plotting. My plan for revenge had to be flawless. If I were to survive this, and still avenge my mate's death, there had to be no holes. It would have been easier if Laurent were still with me, but he had abandoned me. The traitor. But no time for that now. James was more important. I plotted more, looking for open opportunities. Edward had to live every day knowing that his precious mate had died. He would suffer oh so greatly.

Of course it would be a severe enough punishment to kill Edward himself, but I had my eyes on an easier to achieve, and certainly more valuable, prize.

I switched my glare to Bella.

Yes, Edward and his coven might have physically killed my James. Ripped him apart and burned the pieces. But I knew who was indirectly responsible for his death. That little, sweet-smelling girl by his side.

I took a deep breathe, grinning widely. She smelled simply intoxicating. I could almost understand why James had braved a coven of seven- seven- just to get to that one weak point. Almost.

I was wrenched out of my thoughts by Edward tipping Bella backwards, placing his mouth at her throat. I froze in reaction. I hadn't been paying enough attention to the conversation, but it looked like he was about to change her…

What? That couldn't happen! No! If he changed her, it would be all but impossible to kill her! Especially as a newborn! I tensed to spring, ready to attack Bella right then…

Ah, but Edward just chuckled and said, "Nice try."

I sighed in relief. I could still avenge James…

Oh, god. James!

I held back tearless sobs. James, dead. These… I can't even think of a bad enough word to describe them, had killed my James! No. Not them, the girl. The girl. She had killed my James. Torn him away from me. She would be the one to die.

I turned around and started walking down the stairs from the balcony I was on. My orange hair spread around my shoulders like flames as I directed my poisoness thoughts toward Bella.

See you later Bella. We'll be seeing each other very, very soon. Your vampires can hide you all they want, but I'll find you. I'll hunt you down. And then, darling Bella, I'll kill you. Make you and your Edward suffer for what they did to me.

After all, I learned from the best tracker in the world.
