Dodging Blame
--
I've finally been struck by the inspiration for an Academy-era fic! *grins proudly* Here it is - hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do in fact own Doctor Who, the Prydonian Academy, and several state-of-the-art laboratories.
(For those who are sarcasm impaired, that was a complete lie. I own none of these things. If I did, I would be making oodles of cash off this fic. I'm not.)
((I do, however, own the term 'xenopsychochemistry'. Sort of. Assuming that ownership is based on the fact that no results come up when you Google it...))

"I blame Ushas," said Koschei as soon as the smoke cleared.
"What?" Theta protested. "But she didn't have anything to do with it!"
"I know, but I don't want to blame you," Koschei pointed out in a reasonable sort of voice. "And I certainly don't want to blame me!"
"But it is our fault," Theta reminded him. "Shouldn't we take responsibility for it?"
Koschei shrugged. "Normally, I'd quite agree," he said. "But...
"But what?" Theta wanted to know.
Koschei winced. "Well, we have just blown up a state-of-the-art xenopsychochemistry lab."
Theta raised an uncomprehending eyebrow.
"Do you remember what Lord Borusa made Drax do when he blew up a lab?" Koschei asked meaningfully.
Theta's eyes suddenly got very wide. "Oh," he said. Then, "Oh!"
Koschei nodded, satisfied that his classmate was now fully aware of the gravity of the situation. "So," he said. "We're agreed. It'll be Ushas' fault."
Later that day in Borusa's office, Ushas was ready to burst into tears.
"But, Lord Borusa," she protested, "I don't understand! Why must I write an entire thesis on the development of modern xenopsychochemistry lab equipment?"
