When Flashcards Attack
A chibi story
Chibi Duo sat in a chair with Brianna sitting in front of him holding a deck of cards.
Chibi Duo: Are we gonna play poker? Leans forward with enthusiastic smile.
Brianna: No. Shuffles cards.
Chibi Duo: Blackjack?
Brianna: No. Continues shuffling cards.
Chibi Duo: War?
Brianna: No. Continues shuffling.
Chibi Duo: Go fish?
Brianna: No. Stops shuffling and gives Duo a look.
Chibi Duo: Well then what's the use of havin' cards if ya aren't gonna play any CARD games huh? Leans backward and crosses arms.
Brianna: Because we're going to practice your math skills.
Chibi Duo: WHAT?! Horrified look.
Brianna: 1x2?
Chibi Duo: 2
Brianna: 1x4?
Chibi Duo: 8
Brianna: Sighs. 1x5?
Chibi Duo: 87! Claps his hands happily thinking he got it right.
Brianna: Yes, no and no. Duo, you have to…
Chibi Duo: Look at me! Duo stood on the chair and jumps from the chair to couch after couch and finally lands on his butt. Has a sheepish smile on.
Brianna: Until you decide to pay attention to me, you're going to stay right here while I wash your bike. Okay? Stands up and walks out. Duo goes over to his chair and sits there looking at the deck of cards on Brianna's chair.
Chibi Duo: What're YOU lookin' at ya pack of paper? Duo said towards the card as he crossed his arms. I said, what're ya lookin' at? YOU'RE just a pack o' paper with annoyin' little numbers on it!
Five minuets go by.
Chibi Duo: That's it! You need a time out! Jumped off his chair and goes over to pack of cards. Picks up the deck and sees a face on the top card.
Card: Hey kid, whatcha doin'?
Chibi Duo: AHHH! IT TALKS! Drops cards.
Card: AHHHHHH! Whadya go and do that for, kid?
Chibi Duo: You're a piece of weird paper that was made to make little kids think! You're not s'pposed ta talk! Put hands on hips.
Card: GET HIM! Cards fly off the floor and tackle Duo. Duo lands on the floor covered in a blanket of cards screaming for help. Brianna comes in and stops in the doorway as she watches Duo wriggle and scream under a pile of cards. She walks over and crouches down in front of him and picks up all the cards off him.
Brianna: What are you doing?
Chibi Duo: Hands over face. Is it over?
Brianna: Is what over?
Chibi Duo: Removes hands and sits up. But-but…
Brianna: Holds up deck of cards. What happened?
Chibi Duo: I got MUGGED!
Brianna: Mugged?
Chibi Duo: YEAH! That is a VI-O-LENT, tries to sound out the word 'violent', stack of cards.
Brianna: Uh huh… get back in your chair and we'll start all over again.
Chibi Duo: BUT THEY GAVE ME A PAPER CUT! Pulls out index finger to show a small line that wasn't bleeding.
Brianna: Sit down and pay attention.
Chibi Duo: BUT!
Brianna: No buts, keep this up and there will be no desserts for you.
They both sit back in their chairs and Brianna holds up one card.
Brianna: 1x7?
Chibi Duo: It's, looks at the card and sees a grinning face on it, AHHHHHH!!!
