Title: Beginning With Us
Author: Utenakun
Series: Revolutionary Girl Utena
Summary: A poem narrated as a girl sets out into the world.
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Revolutionary Girl Utena is not mine, never was, never will be, world without end (VERY without end! ), amen.
Notes: Just sat down and wrote this in one go after finishing the end of the Utena manga. Oh god I love this series. Vague spoiler-ish hints about the ending, but nothing too major.

Come with me, love
For the myths are over and done,
Ring-promises have bloomed and have spent,
Engagements and swords have broken.

The fragile shell has crushed into dust
Under the silk-slippered foot of the princess,
Yet I tell you now that you finally understand,
We are free to make our own nobility.

And the roses no longer need watering
Under the light of a distant star;
They can now stand the pressure of daylight
They can now grow so high on their own.

With the freedom you've granted yourself
With the promise that this can only begin it,
Miracles and revolution can truly come
As soon as our meeting, beyond, becomes.

I swear to you, not ring,
Nor magic, nor story, nor love,
Can now lead you to me in this world
For I know you shall find me yourself.
