They were thieves a tricksters by nature, and thus whatever laws took a hold in society were, by process of elimination, completely obsolete. Gold, jewels, precious artifacts; it all lay in hands that had taken them from rightful owners and made them their own, despite the hold of the laws, but those laws were not the only ones that fox and bat had broken together. As tongues weaved a sensual dance and bodies collided in the dark, the laws of nature itself were broken when fox and bat embraced each other. They were shattered when breaths mingled into one and they simply lay in each others arms, limbs tangled up and wings and ears and tail all meshing together as one being.
