Hollyrose stared at the tauren mining the copper in front of the Fargodeep mine. 'What is a Tauren doing in Elwynn forest?' She wondered. Then all of a sudden one of the kobolds attacked the tauren. Hollyrose ran forward and cast a spell on the kobold pulling it off the poor beast. The tauren turned and looked at her. His eyes seemed amused. He raised a hand over his head and cast a spell. The kobold, which had been doing his fair share of damage back to Hollyrose, died in that instant.
It was in then that Hollyrose realized her mistake. This was no silly tauren wandering the woods of Elwynn Forest, but hero of the horde who had fought bravely beside the likes of Thrall to ensure the destruction of the Lich King. This tauren could take her life in a matter of a thought. He was a true fully trained druid. Not sure what her next move should be, Hollyrose did the only thing she could think of, she ran into the mine to finish her quest. She could not stop the tauren after all, and he didn't seem like he wanted to kill her. She was met by several Kobolds as soon as she stepped in. Kipmet, her demon pet, helped to try and stay them off, but it was difficult with so many, just then she saw that same bright green light hit each of the kobolds killing them instantaneously. The tauren smiled at her. It was actually a nice look, Hollyrose thought as she smiled back at him.
"Me, Kit…me protect you." Kit said, in broken Alliance common while gesturing around them in the mine.
Hollyrose nodded, "Me…Hollyrose….on mission."
Kit nodded and the two started down the tunnel. Anytime a kobold would attack Hollyrose, Kit destroyed it in the blink of an eye. He lead her safely through the entire mine, guiding her, mining at copper as they went and smiling all the while.
Hollyrose thanked Kit many times, and Kit replied with his own grateful smiles. As Hollyrose finished her three little quests inside the mine, she felt her heart break slightly. She wanted to stay with this tauren friend Kit, and yet she knew that bringing him back with her to Goldshire would only mean disaster for them both. In her heart she cried. She yearned for a place where she and Kit could go and be friends, without any Alliance and Horde faction problems interfering to stop them, yet she knew, that as things stood now, this could never be.
Hollyrose looked at her tauren friend with tears in her eyes, she felt very sad. Kit reached out and wiped away her tears handing her a flower as he did so. "When see flowers in the field, think of Kit." He said in his broken common. Hollyrose nodded and took his hand.
"Thank you my friend. From here on out, I will forever be, in my heart at least, Hollyrose Taurenfriend." She wasn't sure how much the druid understood, but she thought maybe he too was wishing that the factions did not exist and that they two could be friends no matter which side they decided to follow.
Both of them waved goodbye, Kit running back into the woods to look for more mines, and Hollyrose back to Goldshire to report what she'd found. She wondered if she'd ever meet Kit again. Part of her hoped so, for he was a great friend of all. Part of her hoped that she did not, for she never wanted to become tangled up in a battle where the two had to be on opposite sides. Hollyrose Taurenfriend. She had chosen her own last name, and she was the only one who knew it.
