Percy's POV
Its been 3 weeks after the war with the Giants had ended. Annabeth and I had broken up because she met someone in New Rome (Cough cough Octavian), I was heart broken at first but Nico told me that she wasn't worth crying over and I guess he was right. After the war me and Nico became closer than ever. We would walk through the woods to check up with Leo at Bunker 9, he was fixing Festus, but her always muttered something about 'finding her' and a crystal, whatever that meant. I always had the slightest thought in my head that I should know but I pushed it aside. Me and Nico were walking through the forest again, at night though. Chiron had scolded Percy "You should not leave your cabin at night, the Harpies have no mercy for campers." But since when did I listen to rules? We were walking around and we heard footsteps that weren't ours. We immediately ran for cover. Nico whispered "Harpies?" I immediately dismissed the idea and shook my head no. They travel in numbers and would be flying or in the trees now walking. I uncapped riptide and Nico unsheathed his sword. We waited but then the footsteps stopped. I mentally face-palmed, remembering riptides soft bronze glow it gave off in the dark. "Percy?"
It was Leo, Thank the gods. We put away our swords and came out. He had fire dancing around his fingers, probably for light in the night.
"What are you doing out so late?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
Leo looked sad and drained from his usual humorous self, Though Percy didn't know why. He thought he could use some cheering up, but nothing came to him. Percy was thinking about this he he slipped riptide back into his pocket and felt his apartment keys. so he threw the idea out there
"So ah, you guys wanna go to my apartment? I havent been there in a while."
"Uh.. sure" Leo seemed a little off but Percy decided not to question him. He knew that if someone was upset, let them come out with it themselves don't push it. The son of Hades smiled, which he did a lot more often these days and said "Lets go"
