Disclaimer: I do not own Marion, Indy OR Mutt. And yeah, the Ox is like... nonexistent in this thing. 'Cause I say. Well, he is, but he's not involved.
Review. Kthx.
Mutt shrugged and sat down beside his mother, happy that, for once, everyone seemed to be in a good mood.
"Either smiling, or screaming at you." Marion grinned and Mutt realized she was talking to his dad, about his dad.
"Do we have anything to eat?" Mutt asked, just as his stomach growled infuriatingly loudly.
Indy smirked and pulled out a small, squashed candy bar which looked as though it had not taken going through three waterfalls and the numerous other falls well. "That's about it, I'm afraid." He said, shrugging.
Mutt accepted it with only slight hesitation. It was food, anyway. As he held the treasure in one hand, he reached for his comb with the other and began to run it through his extremely messy hair. "This is absolutely awful." He muttered to himself.
His dad gave him what Mutt thought at first was simply a deranged grin, but then he realized it was evil. "I know how to make it worse." He said.
Marion's eyes widened. "I'll help."
Mutt's eyes darted from one parent to the other, warily. Indy leapt up, hooked his arm around Mutt's neck and rubbed his fist in Mutt's now hopeless hair.
"No! N- no! NO!" Mutt tried to get away, but it was no use.
"Indy, stop. That's just cruel." Marion tried to hold back a giggle. Indy released Mutt, who ran a desperate hand through his hair. "It's ruined." He whispered.
"Not yet." Marion reached forward and ruffled her son's hair monstrously. Mutt jumped from his seat and backed up slowly. "I think I'll go down now after all." He said, fingering his hair in horror.
"What's the hurry?" Marion asked innocently.
"You'd been planning that, ever since you saw my hair, haven't you!?" Mutt accused his dad, though he didn't sound too miffed.
"Yeah, maybe."
"Come on, Mutt, come sit down. We won't torture you any more." Marion motioned for her son to come back over, and with more reluctance than the first time, he obliged.
"Could have been worse. We could have taken your comb away too." Indy pointed out.
"Here, honey, have a mirror." Marion said, trying to stifle another giggle.
"Gee, thanks." Mutt accepted it. "You are just such amazing parents, you know that?" But he meant it. They could tell.
