A New Reflection
Jay was finishing training and his coach patted his shoulder proudly,
"Great Job today Jay" he praised,
"You'll take us straight to the finals" he told him and Jay smiled brightly,
"Thanks coach" he said as the team cleared the pitch.
Jay took a refreshing swig from his water bottles when he noticed Lonnie wielding a sword in the training ground as she swung it awkwardly at the target.
He and the other descendants had met her kitchen, the night before when Mal had prepared a love potion cookie for Ben.
Jay approached the fence and watched her with amusement,
"Can you see the target?" He teased and she pouted as she looked at him,
"I know I'm terrible... You don't have to rub it in" she whined and Jay chuckled before holding his arms up in defence,
"Sorry. I'm only teasing" he said and he watched as she threw the sword on the ground,
"Urrrrrr I hate this" she whined and he looked at her confused,
"Then why are you taking combat class?" He asked and she looked at him sadly before sighing,
"Because my mom wanted me too" she explained,
"She thinks because she was a hero of China that automatically means I want to be the same" she explained and Jay nodded in understanding,
"And... You don't want to be" he concluded to which she nodded and Jay became curious,
"What do you want to be then?" He asked and Lonnie smiled to herself before giggling,
"Don't laugh" she said and Jay smiled brightly and held his hands up in surrender,
"I promise I won't" he swore and Lonnie smiled,
"I... I wanna be a dancer" she told him and he nodded as he listened,
"The dance floor can be a battlefield too" he told her and she smiled softly,
"That's exactly what I say" she told him and he smiled charmingly,
"Well we must begin drawing up a strategy for Ben's coronation" he said as he picked up his sports bag and Lonnie looked confused,
"A strategy?" She asked and he smiled brightly,
"Yeah. You and me on the front line" he told her charmingly and she blushed,
"Are... Are you asking me to go to the coronation with you?" She asked with a soft smile and he smiled brightly before winking,
"I don't see anyone else here... So what do you say?" He asked and Lonnie smiled brightly and blushed as she nodded,
"I'd like that very much" she said and he smiled brightly,
"Great... See you there" he said before heading back to his dorm and he mentally high fives himself.
