Hey everyone. This story was written for Criminology: Articles of Criminology, Fortnightly Challenges Thread's Snape Appreciation, and Holmes Mystery Challenge on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The task for Criminology: Articles of Criminology was to write about a tattoo with a meaning behind it. Snape Appreciation Challenge task was Shelf 3 12. Swelling Solution - write about someone with a big ego. For the Holmes Mystery Challenge the prompt was trait of being Charismatic. I hope you all enjoy Bellatrix Gets the Dark Mark.
Walking into the circle of wizards who adhered to what the Dark Lord taught Bellatrix Lestrange looked around her. She was one of the very few females that had been chosen to become Death Eaters. She couldn't keep her eyes off of him though.
"Bellatrix Lestrange," came the voice as though from a far, "come and receive your Dark Mark."
Swaggering forward with all the charisma and bravado she had she stuck her arm out to the man in front of her. Smiling she watched as the wand wavered over her arm. She knew that people feared her. She knew that they thought her mental but she didn't care. As long as he didn't mind she would be whatever he needed her to be.
"Before you receive your Dark Mark you will need to answer a few question," came the voice of her husband.
She glowered at him. Why did he have to make his presence known. Today of all days. The day she joined her Dark Lord's faction. She nodded up at him impatiently as though if this took any longer she'd administer the mark herself.
"Alright," she snapped. "Get it over with."
"Do you Bellatrix Lestrange," he added a hateful smirk after saying her name, knowing her feeling for the Dark Lord, "vow to follow our Lord Voldemort? Doing whatever he tells you to do? No matter what?"
"I do," she whispered reverently.
"Do you promise to never leave any mission unfulfilled? No matter the cost?"
"I do."
"Do you promise to give your all to Lord Voldemort? Even if it means that you have to lay down your own life to serve him?"
"I do."
"Then I welcome you, Bellatrix Lestrange to our little society. To our ranks of Death Eater."
She watched in a most charismatic way as the man holding the wand over her arm slowly and painfully gave her the tattoo that would eventually end her life. Gritting her teeth into a smile she knew she'd never regret this moment. After the pain subsided she looked at the tattoo that would be perminant remind of who she belonged to. A perminant statement that she was the Dark Lord's and his only. This moment, this tattoo, marked the moment she became one of his.
I hope you all enjoyed Bellatrix Gets the Dark Mark. I can totally see Bellatrix being excited about getting this particular tattoo. Screaming to the world that she is one of Voldemort's followers. I can also see her husband acting the way he does in this story. I don't think they get along really well. Do they?
