END OF P.O.V
It was a cold September Monday morning. The leaves from the trees had started to fall, leaving small crisp golden leaves lying on the snow. There were children shuffling to school to be in time for the bell. Stan leaned against the wall of the school gates, waiting for his best friend.
"It's not like him to be this late," he said to himself. He looked at the clock on top of the school. It was almost time for the bell. He gave up waiting and went inside.
In the classroom, he seen Kyle's empty desk next to him. He sat down and got his books out for class. He turned to Kenny who was sitting behind him.
"Hey Kenny, do you know what's wrong with Kyle?" Stan asked
"No clue," Kenny replied.
For the rest of the day, Kyle did not show up.
Stan decided to go to his house after school and see what happened to him. He knocked the door, no answer. He peeked through the window, the place was empty.
"Wonder where they are," he said, "They never said they were going away," He walked home thinking about what might've happened. As he stepped through the door, he saw his mum talking on the phone. She seen him and gave him a worried look.
"He just came in the door," she said on the phone as Stan took off his shoes. She put the phone down and walked towards him.
"Stanley," she began, "That was Sheila on the phone,"
"What's happened?" He asked,
"It's your friend Kyle," she said, "He collapsed last night and they went to the hospital and he has..." she trailed off.
"He has what?" Stan repeated, growing impatient,
"Stan," she said, "Kyle... has cancer,"
Sorry for the clip hanger guys. Next chapter up soon.
