Of Arranged Marriages and Marital Bliss

PROLOGUE:

The ministry had enacted the Marriage Law and all the unmarried youngsters from the Burrow were sitting around the dining table shocked still. Harry had Ginny, Ron had Lavender Brown and George was with Luna Lovegood. Percy was engaged to Audrey and Bill was married to Fleur, their relationships stood. Charlie was now not a British citizen anymore but a Romanian one, so his match wasn't fixed for him by the ministry.

The ministry was doing this to increase the population after the war just a year back. The condition was just one… Procreate! The couples were matched according to their compatibility, so the ministry only gave them a time period of 2 years to bear a child. The previously engaged couples were given free reign to marry at their chosen times, as long as they started their bit towards procreating immediately, the ministry didn't care about their weddings. The couples matched by the ministry had to be married within 6 months though, to ensure consummation and conception of course; but those returning to Hogwarts had to tie the knot before the school year began and that was in a month's time!

And to top it all up, Hermione had Oliver Wood!
