A super, super short story I wrote to go with a graphic I made on Tumblr. This is completely unedited and I just thought I'd throw it up here real quick for the heck of it.

So yeah.

Disclaimer: I don't own Glee.

"I don't understand why I'm here," Tina said, setting her paper coffee cup down on the table. "Why me?" Tina was afraid, but hopeful for Artie's answer. Things had been going…downhill with Mike since the Born This Way assignment. While she was able to accept herself more than ever before, she still enjoyed her blue contacts from time to time, and Mike just wasn't into that. Self hating Asian was a term that have been tossed around more than a few times. The idea of Artie possibly showing her some sort of last-ditch affection because of his issues with Brittany…

"Because you and Brittany are partners in Home Ec," he said, "You have…an in. She won't talk to me. Tina…I can't stop thinking about her. I was so awful to her." He buried his face in his hands, "I called her stupid. Of all the things I could have said, I said that."

"What does that have to do with me?" She took a sip of her passion fruit tea.

"I just…need your help." Over the next few days, Tina…well, helped Artie. Nothing more, even though deep down she wanted to. The day before he was set to sing to Brittany in the middle of Home Ec, they were at Artie's, and Tina was sitting at the piano in his living room, playing the tune of Isn't She Lovely—even though he was planning on singing acapella, it was best if he started with an instrumental to go on.

"Do you think this will work?" he asked, "She still won't say a word to me…she's always with Santana. If it were…us…would you take me back?"

It was then that Tina wasn't sure what she was doing. She listened to her heart instead of her head. She kissed Artie, the way she used to, slow and sweet. It was so much more tender in comparison to the way she kissed Mike. She separated from him and he was looking at her with wide eyes before adjusting his glasses and looking down. In a haze that she wasn't quite sure of, she said, "Go to prom with me."

"What about Mike?" he asked. "I'll take care of it."

An hour later, she broke up with Mike.

The next day she went to school with a smile on her face. She and Artie were going to prom. She felt the way she used to feel. That is, until Artie rolled into her third period Home Ec class, took Brittany's hand, and sang to her. She wasn't sure what to think. And so she just sat there, looking at the cake batter in her bowl until Artie was gone.

Brittany leaned over to her and stuck her finger in their batter, and said as she licked the chocolately concoction off her finger, "How could you ever break up with him?"

Tina was asking herself the same thing.
